Since the founding of Team 2496 in 2007, Tru Blu Robotics has been dedicated to the stimulation and growth of engineering interest for high school students. The main purpose of this program reaches far beyond that of a mere competition; its main intent is to allow students to develop at least a sense of the engineering world so that they may be better prepared for what is to come. Members of Tru Blu Robotics develop a myriad of different skills while preparing and competing in the FIRST FRC Robotics course. These skills have a high variance ranging from using drills and saws to wiring solenoids and motors to writing and debugging code. Though these skills are taught in moderate doses for novice such as ourselves, the foundation is created for these skills to flourish in later years. Although these skills are taught throughout the course of a year with small overlaps between differing grades, none of them would be possible without collaboration. Communication is as critical to a team as wheels are to cars. We try to organize our team in such a way that reduces errors in communication and more importantly increase efficiency. A majority of these error can be avoided by having certain students specialize in certain fields with basic knowledge of their other counterparts. We are, after all, a team. And a Tru team works together.
